Pros And Cons Of Solar Energy
For all energy resources there are few advantages and disadvantages as well. However, when it comes to conventional energy resources that are derived from fossil fuels, we choose to ignore the disadvantages. We can do the same with solar energy systems also. |

Some of the advantages of solar energy are as follows:
It is a renewable source of energy and is available naturally. Solar energy has no emissions and the materials that are used to generate the electricity usually last a long time. Sunlight is something that is available everywhere in the earth and is very reliable as it shows up everyday. You will not have to pay any utility bills as sunlight is free. Technology today can covert solar energy into heat energy, light, electricity and mechanical power. It is extremely easy to install solar panels. They have a low maintenance rate and have nothing complicated for it to stop working. It is also predictable as to how much power it can generate.
Some of the disadvantages of solar energy system is the initial costs are very high. It can cost as much as $10,000 for installation of the panels. People see it as a huge amount to spend for installing such an equipment. Though it is predictable system, it does not produce enough energy to sustain the usage of an entire household. Downtime storage is not as efficient as heat tends to dissipate. Also, it is severely weather driven like constant rain and cloudiness can affect the performance of the solar panels.
