Industrial Diesel Fuel Additive
Diesel is considered as having highly complex properties. The reason for this is that its chemical properties undergo changes from the time it leaves the refinery, is delivered at gas stations and is filled in the vehicles. |

The fuel molecules present in the diesel, change their chemical structure from time to time and can hence affect the power performance of the fuel. Hence it becomes important that fuel additives be used in diesel in order to stabilize its chemical properties. But these additives have to be the right kind and need to be mixed in the proper ratio. This will ensure the reduction of fuel degradation and increase in cetane value of the fuel. Rise in cetane value helps the engine derive more power per gallon from the fuel.
Diesel engines are being modified to raise their performance level. Similarly, diesel fuel is also undergoing chemical changes to combat the rising emission and environmental concerns. ULSD or ultra Low Sulfur Diesel is being used to bring down the level of sulfur to 15 ppm. But lowered amount of sulfur means lowered engine lubrication that can result in the wear and tear of fuel injectors and fuel pump. There are other changes that have taken place in the design of the diesel engines. These designs can decrease the efficiency of the engine unless suitable additives aren’t used with diesel fuel.
There are plenty of diesel fuel additives that are available in the market today. More and more companies are looking at manufacturing the best fuel additives that can take proper care of a diesel engine. They also help increase the performance of the vehicle and contribute in lowering the emission of gases. All these are tested tried and approved additives. However, before you start using them, check if they meet the emission standards set by the legislation.
