We use electricity all day, and most of the electricity that is generated comes from fossil fuels like coal. We need heating, cooling, and also to run industries that manufacture various products. If we do not have this source of energy, we will become severely handicapped.

Fossil fuels are organic substances that have taken millions of years to form in the earth’s crust. They are formed out of decomposing materials like vegetation and dead animals and living beings.

Every single machine that we use, transport that we take is run because of fossil fuels. Oil is considered as the most valuable fossil fuel and there is a severe shortage of it. The shortage has been caused due to the extensive use of it. Also, the energy that is derived from these substances is extremely volatile and powerful. No other alternative source of energy can meet with the current day demand of energy in the world.

We will continue to use electricity and transport for several thousands of years to come. There is no way out for humanity other than depending on this source of energy. That is why we need fossil fuels. Also, they cannot be artificially produced since they have to form on their own. Severe deforestation and other measures to expand human habitats may deplete the source of fossil fuels.
